Our Connection to USC
As his commemorative brick on the Horseshoe attests, Senior Golfers founder Bob Swanson was Carolina’s biggest fan. He attended the university on the GI Bill, graduating in Civil Engineering. He followed the Gamecocks and supported his alma mater all his 80+ years.
Bob’s daughter Cynthia has worked in the business since 1982. Cynthia is eccentric in her love of Carolina, having graduated in the College of Education. Her daughter Catherine is event director of Senior Golfers of America. Although Catherine is a College of Charleston grad, she has Gamecock in her DNA and supports them along with the rest of her family.
