Veterans Alumni Council

The Veterans Alumni Council (VAC) is an advisory group that works to unite veteran alumni, student veterans, and supporters to develop camaraderie, provide scholarships to student veterans, facilitate community service, and establish a unified voice for veteran alumni and student veterans at the University of South Carolina.

Our Mission

The mission of the Veterans Alumni Council (VAC) is to unite and organize Veteran Alumni of the University, current student veterans and friends into a welded community to pursue the following causes:

1) Build camaraderie within the greater Gamecock Veteran network by promoting active membership within the Association through involvement with VAC sponsored events;

2) Recognition of Gamecock Veterans, supporters and associates through academic scholarships and awards to promote and encourage educational interests at the University;

3) Connect Gamecock Veterans with local and national veteran service organization partners to facilitate community service and fellowship opportunities;

4) Establish a unified voice for Veteran Alumni to advocate for student veterans at the University.

VAC Salute to Service scholarship fund

Veterans Alumni Council established the University of South Carolina’s first student veteran scholarship that isn’t preferential to a specific military branch. Join VAC in saluting the service of our student veterans who have chosen to continue their education at USC by giving to the Salute to Service Scholarship today.
