Affinity Groups
The Alumni Association proudly supports Alumni Affinity Groups, which include Alumni Affinity Councils and Alumni Interest Groups. The primary purpose of each is to connect alumni with unique backgrounds and experiences. Our Affinity Councils include the Black Alumni Council, Veterans Alumni Council, LGBTQ+ Council and Young Alumni Council. In 2021, we introduced our first Interest Group with the Carolina Bands.
Affinity Councils
Affinity Groups meet regularly to plan activities and programs for their constituencies to help strengthen their respective alumni communities, while also supporting current and future students through scholarship access. We encourage you to connect and get involved with an Affinity Group today!

Interest Groups
Carolina Band
Steeped in rich tradition, the 350-member Carolina Band, the University of South Carolina’s marching band, is one of the nation’s premier college bands. The “Mighty Sound of the Southeast” performs in front of tens of thousands of Gamecock fans each football season and is the largest and most visible student organization on campus. For those students who participate in the Carolina Band, it is the highlight of their college experience. You’re invited to join other fellow marching band alumni for networking, volunteering, and social events.
